Cara Delevingne, strikes again. As exclusively revealed by British Vogue, Cara is the new face of Topshop, fronting their Autumn/Winter 2014 campaign, also becoming the first ever model to go it alone for the Arcadia brand.
It's not massively surprising. Cara is the quintessential Topshop girl so it only makes sense that this would happen sooner or later. Alasdair McLellan shot the campaign which had a very "Girl and her Guitar' vibe going on, though my favourite's have to be the black and white shot of her on the balcony, and the tuxedo picture. And maybe also the fur-coat-and-heels pic which is very Kate Moss. All in all I genuinely like this campaign, its not too showy or pretentious and it sort of takes things back to basics with the clothing as well as retaining some classic glamour/show-stoppers.
This was all down to Topshop's creative director (and former Vogue fashion editor) Katie Phelan, who said in a PR statement "Cara is a true Topshop girl. Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual. Putting her spin on everything she makes the Topshop collection her own. Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free spirited and fun." Topshop released a short video to go along with the campaign which shows Cara being kooky and adorable so what else is new. See that and the rest of the campaign below.
What do you think of the shots? Looks like a win-win for Cara/Topshop to me.
