Suzy Menkes is generally regarded as the foremost fashion journalist, having recently left her long-running position at the International Herald Tribune (now the International New York Times) to become Vogue's International Editor.
Menkes is also known for her instantly recognisable iconic quiff hairstyle, and she discusses this and her career in BBC Radio Four's Women's Hour. As an aspiring fashion journalist I found this very compelling; I particularly loved her story about sneaking into Karl Lagerfeld's show at Chloé dressed as a cleaner in the sixties. If you have a spare ten minutes then I highly recommend you take a listen, but hurry, it won't be available for too long.
