MINI WINTER SALE HAUL

Of all the seasons, Winter is the one I love the most. The appeal of big coats, Christmas and the general cosy holiday vibe is something I look forward to all year round.

Then Christmas is over and its all shit.

Luckily there is a magical period between Christmas and New Year which, if used wisely, can elevate this awful time to new levels of consumerist joy. THE WINTER SALES.

I have a strange sort of steel-like willpower that prevents me from making regrettable purchases in stores, yet when it comes to online shopping the gloves are off. Its a no holds barred battle of discount codes, shipping charge negotiations and relentlessly sifting through the crap. This time around I came out with four items, all tops, because even though I need trousers way more I just always buy tops. Fashion student logic.
Clockwise from top left: Hooded Sweater, V-neck Sweatshirt, Denim Shirt, Sweatshirt with a Print
Hooded Sweater, £9 - Anyone who knows me knows that I categorically Do. Not. Wear. Hoodies. Its like a sort of displaced snobbishness I guess, but also I don't generally like the idea of having a hood. This one however is pretty great. The inside is beautifully soft, and the neutral light beige colour is perfect; it reminds me of one Adam Gallagher wore on I Am Galla.
    1. V-neck Sweatshirt, £6.99 - This is actually women's, but its just a very loose slouchy jumper. I wear it over my black polo-neck which results in a very Leandra Medine sort of look. Its soft and perfect and I love it.
    2. Denim Shirt, £12 - Denim shirts are universally loved but my current Hollister version is light blue, practically crispy due to over-drying and too heavy for normal use. It also has the unfortunate effect of making me look wider, whereas this lovely dark denim shirt is wonderful and slimming. Loves it.
    3. Sweatshirt with a Print, £5 - Printed sweatshirts!!! Is there anything better for a sartorial statement? The answer is no. Unfortunately I'm not hugely enamoured with this one right now, the front decal sort of creases and I'm concerned with how it'll wash, but for £5 thats not the worst.
I feel like I've gotten a pretty good deal out of this years winter sales, its all about the timing. Plus, you can beat the terrifying store sales rush! What did you get?

    Tom xx
