PARIS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA

A couple of weeks ago I travelled to the City of Lights in a trip that very nearly wasn't. Paris is one my favourite places in the world, not only for its beauty but for the culture of a city steeped in fashion's very history.

INSTAGRAM: TORAMARRA HEARTS NEW YORK COLLECTIVE

New York was an incredible experience and a place I'm sure I'll visit again soon. Someone important in my life once said of 'it's easy to take an amazing picture in New York, but you'll never fully capture the life of the city in a photo'. I couldn't agree more. Of course whenever there was free WiFi there was absolute pandemonium among the group. Instagram has long been my favourite form of social media and here are the pics I uploaded to it from my wonderful trip.

TORAMARRA HEARTS NEW YORK: FIT, MOMI AND QUEENS

Jumper - Junk De Luxe, Coat - River Island, Jeans - Hollister, Shoes - H&M, Bag - Firetrap, Watch - Michael Kors

I have an admission to make. I've pretty much forgotten all about what happened in New York and in what order, which is incredibly annoying because now these posts will be random days all mixed together but oh well! Just enjoy the photos!

TORAMARRA HEARTS NEW YORK: CHELSEA ART GALLERIES

Biker - H&M, Scarf - ASOS, Bag - Firetrap, t-shirt - DIY, Jeans - Zara

For day three we headed to Chelsea to look at all the art galleries. On the way we passed an installation piece of a petrol station overrun with grass and sheep... Surely some comment on how we are building too much and not leaving nature alone but I don't really care because LOOK AT THIS WOMAN. I had to take a sneaky pic but literally, this is why I love New York. The coat is amazing, yes, but the clear glasses just take it to a new level. If you want interesting style choices, come to the Chelsea/Greenwhich area.

NEW YORK STATE OF MIND

Listen with - New York State Of Mind (Glee Cast Version)

I've been slack with the blog this week because I'm really busy getting ready for NEW YORK. I leave on Tuesday and it's been panic stations for a while now. Today I went and bought some dollahhhh so I'll be doing some major shopping (my hotel is really near 5th Avenue guys) which is progress! I haven't packed yet and I need to get together my clothes to take, I'm aware that I want as much room as possible in my suitcase to bring stuff back BUT there is of course the weight limit (conundrum!). So far this is the list of clothing:

SUMMER SERIES - LAST CALL

T-shirt - tie-dyed myself, shorts - FILA

My last day in Crete was sad but amazing, after going to the harbour one last time we were ready to leave. I kept it casual, bearing in mind that the outfit had to last me for the red-eye that night. Thanks Sissi, you were great.

SUMMER SERIES - I HEART SISSI

Sunglasses - BANK, T-Shirt - H&M, Shorts - Urban Spirit, Flip Flops - River Island

When exploring the seaside village of Sissi we stumbled across this painted electrical road unit, 'I heart Sisi'. With a stunning harbour, restaurants and cafes directly on the sea wall and more stray cats than the RSPCA, the sentiment is true. The recent heat wave (that has ended today, thank god) had nothing on the Cretan climate. 34 degrees demands cooling measures whenever possible - white was my saviour. This spin on the American flag was a nice little reprieve from all-white blandness (if you think clean cut white tailoring will be suitable here think again) and the shorts? They were at the top of my suitcase.

Sigi sigi!

FROM SISSI WITH LOVE

When I first set off on the plane for Crete almost two weeks ago I envisioned myself happily editing blog posts by the pool, in my room and around the hotel's bars. This was quickly quashed by the discovery that not only was the only wifi available located in the hotel reception, it was unreliable and slow (to put it kindly). Although this was effective in forcing me to switch off, it meant an unit ended hiatus of Toramarra. Over the next few weeks I'll be uploading my holiday outfits so look out for my summer series this September! Crete was beautiful, especially the Sissi harbour near our hotel. I'll miss it but its great to be back on track with the blog.
